Asomex Oh tablet contains olmesartan, amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide. It belongs to group of medication known as antihypertensive drug. Olmesartan is a angiotensin II receptor blocker it works by blocking action of angiotensin II in the body which causes narrowing of blood vessels resulting in high blood pressure. Blocking it hinders its action and result in proper blood flow through blood vessels. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker it works by relaxing the blood vessels and reduces the load on the heart and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic it acts on the distal convoluted tubules and blocks the sodium chloride co-transporter system. This action leads to a diuretic action that lowers blood pressure.
