It belongs to group of medication known as 'anti-diabetic drug'. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults.Glimepiride is a sulphonylurea,it works by increasing amount of insulin released by pancreas. Metformin is a biguanide, it works by lowering glucose production in liver also delays glucose absorption from intestine and increases body's response to insulin. Voglibose is an alpha glucosidase inhibitor, it prevents breakdown of complex sugar into simple sugars. Together this medicine prevents blood glucose to rise very high.
