Sucral MU cream contains sucralfate and mupirocin. It belongs to class of medication known as protectants and antimicrobial agent. It is primarily used to treat burns, wound infections and bacterial skin infections such as impetigo.Sucralfate is a protectant with anti-inflammatory properties it works by forming a coating over the affected skin surface. This creates a cytoprotective effect and forms a viscous, adhesive barrier on the surface of the infected skin. It stimulates the synthesis and release of prostaglandins and the epidermal growth factor which stimulates healing. Mupirocin is an antibacterial it works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby preventing the growth of bacteria.
