Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic it works by killing the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic it works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
