Zayo 50mg tablet contains sacubitril and valsartan. It is a cardiovascular agent used in treatment of heart failure. It helps to reduce hospitalization in adults with chronic heart failure. Heart failure is a chronic condition of heart in which heart cannot pump blood effectively. Valsartan is a angiotensin II receptor blocker it works by blocking action of angiotensin II in the body which causes narrowing of blood vessels resulting in high blood pressure. Blocking it hinders its action and result in proper blood flow through blood vessels. Sacubitril is a neprilysin inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of neprilysin thus preventing the breakdown of natriuretic peptides.Natriuretic peptides remove sodium from the blood and excrete it in the urine. In the absence of natriuretic peptides, sodium levels increase in the blood, leading to increased blood pressure.
